Your Rescue Team needs you!

For over fifty years Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team has provided support and assistance to those who have had the misfortune to find themselves in difficulty in the hills. The Team’s operational area covers the central and eastern Cairngorms, together with the lower hills of Deeside and Donside. This is an area which provides a number of significant challenges in terms of search and rescue, and throughout its history Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team has relied on a dedicated body of volunteers to undertake this work.

Membership of the Team is open to anyone over the age of eighteen who can demonstrate an appropriate level of mountaineering skill and fitness. Team members are all volunteers and the Team frequently works in close co-operation with other local rescue teams and the Police.

Maintaining a highly trained volunteer Rescue Team can be difficult, and we are always on the look out for motivated and experienced hillwalkers and mountaineers who are willing to give of their time and expertise to support the work of the Team. We are currently in the process of trying to recruit new Team Members – so if you are looking for a challenge; would like to develop new skills and are interested in perhaps putting something back into your sport; we would like to hear from you.

If you would like to discuss becoming a member of the Team or would like further information then please contact the team directly through the following email address.
